Andy Roddick has never wavered in his faith in Italian ATP star Jannik Sinner. The former American professional has consistently praised Sinner’s perseverance and stood by him throughout his difficult doping trial. Roddick’s respect for Sinner has only increased this season. The American legend has now given the Italian yet another compliment, demonstrating his admiration for the ATP number one’s skill in the game.
Roddick showed his continued support for the Italian player by expressing his admiration for Jannik Sinner in a beautiful way. Despite initially selecting Djokovic for the surface, Roddick chose Sinner when asked to name his favourite for the 2024 Wimbledon.
In a recent episode of the podcast, Roddick compared Sinner to soccer legend David Beckham and said: “Apparently he’s like David Beckham level star, fame, chaos, circus in Italy. Jim Courier was saying, And I’ll get the numbers wrong, but just focus on the sentiment, but Sunday night, in the Italian football league, I don’t know who was playing, but normally that’s a massive rating.”
Roddick added: “The football rated like a 1.3 million, and Jannik Sinner’s opening night did a bigger number in Italy than the US Open did. He did like 3 million; he doubled up the football rating. First round, not like the final. Massive star there, like he goes to dinner and it’s like Taylor Swift.”

This season Jannik has managed to achieve a compiled 71-6 record. Sinner conquered 8 titles in 2024 at the Australian Open, Rotterdam, Miami, Halle, Cincinnati, U.S. Open, Shanghai and the Nitto ATP Finals. Sinner was the finalist in Beijing.
