Nick Kyrgios recently revealed his mixed feelings about covering Novak Djokovic’s matches during Grand Slam events, humorously admitting the Serbian legend “frustrates the hell out of me.” Speaking on The Sit-Down ahead of the Australian Open, Kyrgios shared that Djokovic’s methodical and efficient playing style can test his patience as a commentator.

Kyrgios explained that Djokovic often dominates early rounds of Grand Slams but has a tendency to prolong matches unnecessarily. “He’ll be up two sets to love, then lose the third and start complaining. Then it’s a 7-6 in the fourth, and I’m like, ‘Dude, do you just enjoy keeping me here?’” Kyrgios joked.

While he admits frustration, Kyrgios doesn’t question Djokovic’s effectiveness, acknowledging his astonishing 88% win rate at Grand Slams. Despite their rocky past, the pair now share mutual respect, with Kyrgios even considering Djokovic a friend. However, Kyrgios added that he prefers commentating on players with unpredictable styles, who keep matches entertaining from start to finish.
