World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, second-ranked Alexander Zverev, and fourth-placed Taylor Fritz have confirmed their participation in the 2025 BMW Open in Munich, set to take place from April 14-20.

This prestigious clay court event, first held in 1899, could see a reigning world No. 1 compete for the first time in its history. “I am very happy to play in Munich for the first time. See you in April,” Sinner said in a tournament announcement.

Sinner, who clinched the Australian Open, US Open, and ATP Finals in 2024, ended the year as the top-ranked player for the first time. Zverev, a two-time Munich champion (2017 and 2018), expressed excitement about returning, calling it “an exciting new chapter” and adding, “I can’t wait to see the German fans again.”

Fritz, runner-up in Munich earlier this year to Jan-Lennard Struff, will also return. The American had an impressive 2024, reaching the US Open and ATP Finals finals, losing both to Sinner.

The 2025 BMW Open, newly upgraded to an ATP 500 event, will debut its revamped center court, making it a prime warm-up for the French Open.
