Nick Kyrgios had a rather conflicting “after-match” after playing and losing to Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon 2nd round. One one side, he had nice words for his “polar opposite” acknowledging that he is a fantastic champion and one of the greatest; on the other when asked about why he didn’t apologize to Rafa, the Australian “turned nasty” again.

During their match, Nadal approached the net picking Nick’s forehand. The Australian didn’t think twice to slam a missile at Nadal that was quick enough to put a racket in between. Kyrgios refuses to apologize and Nadal gave the “death stare” for a couple of seconds to then get back to his routine.

After the match, the journalists asked Kyrgios why he didn’t apologize and the Australian commented

“Why would I apologize? I won the point. I was going for him. I wanted to hit him. The dude has got how many Slams, how much money in the bank account? I think he can take a ball to the chest.”

That shot was dangerous. NADAL

During his press-conference, Nadal rebuffed

“It is not dangerous for me, it is dangerous for a line referee, dangerous for a crowd. When you hit the ball like this, you don’t know where the ball goes. I know he’s a big talented player, but I am a professional player too. I know when you hit this kind of ball, the ball can go anywhere.”
