Novak Djokovic’s abrupt withdrawal from the year-end ATP Finals shocked the tennis community. Despite being a seven-time champion and having qualified for the tournament, the Serbian player was unable to participate in the French Open this year due to an ongoing injury. Djokovic appears to be taking full advantage of his unplanned hiatus from the game, though. His most recent comeback update for fans is the best.
Djoker disclosed his goals on Thursday during the Euroleague Basketball match between FC Barcelona and Crvena Zvezda.
As Tennis Majors reported, Djokovic said: “Tennis is still my focus! I am going at full throttle in the off-season. We go for another ride. I just needed to recharge and refresh a bit after an exhausting year.”
He has already laid out his plans for early 2025 while taking a moment between fan requests for selfies. He said: “I am going to play in the first week of the season; I am just not sure yet where. Then, of course, the Australian Open.”
The Serbian superstar lost his time on the courts and ultimately his number-one ranking when he sustained an unintended meniscus injury at Roland Garros.
