A few days ago there was a rumor going around that Murray would have not played the Rogers Cup in Toronto, and now the Brit confirms his withdrawal officially.

Andy released the official communicate
“I always look forward to coming to Canada, and it’s the first time I’ve missed the tournament, the guys there do a great job and always look after the players,” commented Murray. “My body needs some recovery time after reaching the latter stages of tournaments over the past few months. I’m sorry to my fans in Toronto, but I look forward to being back in Canada next year.”
Andy will be missed
He organization wasn’t happy with the news, but it acknowledged that Andy has always been loyal to the tournament.
“Andy has been very loyal to our event over the years, but certainly, we are disappointed he has chosen not to be in Toronto this year,” said Karl Hale, the tournament director. “As a Masters 1000 event, we are one of the most important tournaments on the calendar. Andy is one of the very top players in the world and a fan favorite. He will be missed, but we wish him continued success through the balance of the season.”
Murray has won the previous edition of the Rogers Cup that was played in Montreal. He will lose 1000ATP for not playing.
