Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, who have split this year’s four Grand Slams, have been assigned to separate groups for the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, which gets underway on November 10.

Sinner, Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur are members of the Ilie Nastase Group. Alcaraz, Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud, and Alexander Zverev are members of the John Newcombe Group.

The top two finishers in each group move on to the semifinals of the competition for the top eight men’s players in the year, which begins on Sunday.

Alcaraz has a 6-4 lead in their career head-to-head rivalry and has won all three of their official meetings with Sinner this year. Sinner defeated Alcaraz at the Six Kings Slam exhibition in Saudi Arabia last month.

After round-robin play, the top two players from each group advance to the semifinals. This simply means that Sinner and Alcaraz might face off in the semifinals.
