Golubic wins her maiden title in Gstaad

Viktorija Golubic wins her first career title in Gstaad. The world no.101 had to dig deep in the final against Kiki Bertens to recover a 1 set deficit and grab the match after 2 hours (4-6 6-3 6-4).

Viktorija will break in the top100 on Monday; she is projected to be the new world no.72. Bertens will also reach a career high after this week; she will be the new world no.21.

After the match, Viktorija commented “It’s fantastic to win at home. Kiki is always so tough to play. I was impressed with her play in Paris.”
