Easy game for Andy that is trying to sharpen his game on the dirt. The Scott was too much for the world nr.68 to wrap the match in 78 minutes and get is 20th win of the season.
“I thought I was hitting the ball well and I played better as the match went on,” Murray said.
Murray will play the 3rd round against either Giraldo or Haase.
TOMIC – GULBIS 6-3 6-4
On the paper this could have been a difficult match for Tomic against the unpredictable Latvian. Once again Gulbis proved to be quite erratic with 5 aces and 4 double faults. Tomic on his side is getting better and better on clay and he sounded quite happy about his performance “I think I played well on my service games,” the Australian said. “I am starting to move better on the clay and it is the best I’ve played so far.”
Tomic will face Montanes in the next round.
VERDASCO – DARCIS 6-3 6-1
This was a routine match for Fernando that is slowly but surely finding again his form. It took only 72 minutes for the Spaniard to defeat the world nr. 66.
Fernando will play the 3rd round either against Delbonis or Anderson. He is the favourite with both of them.
ALMAGRO – ROGER-VASSELIN 7-5 7-6 (3)
This was a surprising struggle for the seed nr.6. Nicolas was expected to have an easy one with the the world nr. 81. Finally the Spaniard (not in is top form) made it in 2 tight sets to play either Roanic or Andreev in the next round.
