Alcaraz Happy With His First Match In Paris

Carlos Alcaraz began his Paris Masters campaign with a decisive 7-5, 6-1 victory over Chile’s Nicolas Jarry, moving into the tournament’s third round. This win not only marked Alcaraz’s successful return to the Paris courts after two years without a win but also demonstrated his tenacity and skill on the indoor hard courts as he bids for his fifth ATP Tour title of the year.

Alcaraz started strong, seizing control early by winning five consecutive points to break Jarry’s serve, displaying the skill and calmness that has made him one of the most formidable players on the ATP Tour. Although Jarry managed to break back, Alcaraz ultimately closed out the first set. In the second set, Alcaraz faced pressure as Jarry pushed with four break-point chances, yet Alcaraz held his ground, taking the set and match in just 90 minutes.

Reflecting on the match, Alcaraz shared, “The first set was a challenge, but it was crucial to take the lead. Coming back to Paris after not winning here for two years feels like a gift.”

In his upcoming match, Alcaraz will face either Ugo Humbert or Marcos Giron as he aims for his third consecutive season with five or more ATP titles.
