After Roger Federer’s capitulation in the Wimbledon semifinal, everyone is wondering if the Swiss Maestro needs to retire.
Lleyton Hewitt has just retired from tennis, and he knows how tough is that.
Federer is still competitive. HEWITT
Lleyton commented “He’s so competitive, and he wants to get out there and push himself as hard as he possibly can. And when you do retire you retire for an awfully long time, so I think he’s still enjoying being out there.
He’s played through generations as well which is impressive and now playing against the likes of Djokovic, Murray and some of the younger guys that are at the top of their games, I think he’s enjoying pushing himself to that next level.”
Roger will now get ready to compete in Rio to win an elusive gold medal (in single).
| Should Federer retire? |
| HE KNOWS ROGER PRETTY WELL |
Federer should definitely NOT retire any time soon - he made it through to Wimbledon semifinals & but for a couple of bad games should have been in the final. If he`s still able to reach those heights at nearly 35 why on earth should he stop. Crowds love him, he makes tennis so much more interesting- we need Roger to carry on playing for a good few years yet. I personally dread the day he retires - not sure who I will support, & my love for tennis will definitely not be as strong.
