Despite not considering his eating habits to be a strict diet, Carlos Alcaraz attributes his performance to recent diet changes.
Typically, the Spaniard eats fish the night before a game because he loves sushi. He has a gluten-free mixed pasta right before his game, which he defines as pasta that has both gluten and no gluten, along with a cocoa cream called Ambrosia that has dates and olive oil in it.
Alcaraz claims that his physiotherapist Jorge Moreno advises him before games and conducts research on nutrition. After a blood test a few years ago, Moreno recommended a forward diet free of gluten.
The nutritional work will help Alcaraz perform better as he prepares for a second appearance at the Nitto ATP Finals.
Alcaraz said in a recent interview with ATP: “I don’t follow a diet per se, but I do try to take care of myself. I’ll eat whatever I want. If something comes my way that I like, I’m happy to take it.”
