During her Tokyo Open second-round match, Zheng Qinwen unintentionally wore her on-court outfits with the tag still on them, which led to a hilarious incident. The 22-year-old, who is competing against Moyuka Uchijima of Japan, was told of the mistake by her opponent during the pre-match photo session.
During the Asian hardcourt swing, Qinwen has had a strong run, making it to the China Open semifinals and placing second at the Wuhan Open. Despite having to miss the Ningbo Tennis Open because of health issues, she recovered well at the Tokyo Open.
With a first-round bye as the top seed, Qinwen went on to play Uchijima in the second round. After overcoming some opposition to win the first set 7-5, the world No. 7 dominated the second set, winning 6-0.
The current Olympic gold medalist had a hilarious moment when she entered the court with the tag still on her tennis outfit before she even swung her racket. Qinwen was in stitches as she swiftly took off the tag before assuming her position after Uchijima pointed it out to her before the pre-match photo shoot.
We’ve all been there, Qinwen…! 🏷️🤏
