Maria Sharapova, a tennis legend, was chosen on Thursday to be a member of the 2025 Class of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Sharapova was once ranked number one in the world and has won the Grand Slam five times.
American doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan have been chosen to be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, the highest honour in tennis.
Kim Clijsters, a former player and member of the Class of 2017 Hall of Fame and President of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, stated: “I am honoured to welcome Maria Sharapova and Bob and Mike Bryan as the International Tennis Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.”
Sharapova and the Bryans will be given the Ultimate Honor in Tennis, joining an exclusive group of 267 inductees from 28 nations.
Sharapova wrote on X: “Incredibly grateful to receive this honour. A big thank you to the Hall of Fame and to all the voters. Most importantly, this recognition is such a beautiful reminder of the deep appreciation I have for my fans. Each one of you made me reach for the stars and look at what we have achieved together. Thank you.”
