Tsonga wins 19-17 in the decider vs. Isner

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga had to dig (very) deep to reach the 4th round at Wimbledon. The Frenchman had to face marathon man John Isner that has a tremendous experience regarding long matches; in fact, the American won the longest match in tennis history in 2010 against Nicolas Mahut 6–4 3–6 6–7(7) 7–6(3) 70–68.

The encounter between Tsonga and Isner this year wasn’t even close to the 2010 one, but it was still rather tough. Jo had to save a match point when he was 15-16 down to wrap up the encounter after four hours and 24 minutes.

I thought it was going to end like Nicolas. TSONGA

The Frenchman commented “I was focused on the game but to be honest, once I said, ‘Wow! It’s going to be long like Nicolas.'”

Next. Vs. Gasquet

Tsonga will play his friend and compatriot Richard Gasquet for a place in the quarters.  The head to head is 4-all, but Gasquet leads 1-0 on grass.
