Nick Kyrgios hits the headlines for another quirky episode. A few weeks ago he asked his own brother to leave the stand during a match against Gasquet at the Roland Garros; now he goes one step further.
What happened
The Australian was playing his match against Feliciano Lopez in the 3rd round in Wimbledon; he was on a 6-3 2-5 score-line, and he got so frustrated that he called “retarded” his own team for lack of support. Eventually, Nick recovered the deficit, but he lost the set at the breaker. The match was later suspended for darkness; the score was 6-3 6-7 (2). The encounter will resume on Sunday.
Let’s hope Kyrgios has calmed down in the meantime.
