British qualifier, Marcus Willis hit the headlines after he reached the 2nd round in Wimbledon coming from absolutely nowhere. Ranked no.772, the Brit also had the opportunity to play his Majesty Roger Federer on the center court. Eventually, that proved to be too much, and Roger got a rather quick start to lead 6-0 1-0 in no time. Willis managed to bounce back, but eventually he had to capitulate 6-0 6-3 6-4.
Watching Willis, his family, girlfriend and mates these last couple of days was a reminder that it is actually only a game. A great one.

Wills. I can hold my head high
Even if Marcus was a bit disappointing after losing he was still rather happy for the last two weeks “It is daunting. It is tough. I was playing alright at first, I settled into the match. I was enjoying it out there. If I was playing well and competing with Roger for a couple of sets, I was doing well.
I need to keep my head down. I am disappointed to lose. I didn’t play as well as I could, but I can hold my head high. I have had a fantastic couple of weeks. I will keep going and do what I have been doing. There is life after Wimbledon, and I want more experiences like this. I’ve earned myself a beer now!”
Federer. He brought some amazing energy
For once, Roger wasn’t the fans’ favorite, but he didn’t mind that “It was very different. Marcus brought some unbelievable energy to the court with his play, the fans, and his enthusiasm as well.”
Roger will play either Evans or Dolgopolov in the 3rd round. That a good draw for the Swiss, isn’t it?
Classy.

Can’t remember last time I was this excited for a match. Doubt Marcus Willis can, either. Fist pump for his first point. #Wimbledon
