After seeing Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz’s peak performances up close, Daniil Medvedev compares them and reveals who he believes is superior today.

Tennis fans saw Jannik Sinner play one of his best games of the season on the opening day of the Six Kings Slam. Medvedev was hardly given any space by the Italian, and he even lost his temper on the court and smashed his racket against the floor.

The Russian player witnessed one of Sinner’s finest tennis court performances firsthand, to the point where it altered Medvedev’s opinion of him.

Sinner’s current level is praised by Medvedev in remarks to the media during the Six Kings Slam. The Italian has only lost six games this year, but Alcaraz has been his only opponent in the last three months. Furthermore, Sinner is at his best during this time of year.

Medvedev stated his remarks about both the players and said: “I always see Jannik as more consistent, like a machine, whereas Carlos Alcaraz, you know, pulls off incredible shots. When Carlos is at his best, I consider him slightly better. Today, I changed my mind. I have never played against someone who played the way Jannik did today. I couldn’t do anything. It felt strange because I felt good; I felt like I was fighting well and physically fit, and I lost easily. I don’t remember ever experiencing something like this before.”
