Jannik Sinner continues his rise to the top of the tennis world, dispatching Daniil Medvedev with a clinical 6-0, 6-3 win in the Six Kings Slam quarter-finals in Riyadh. The 23-year-old Italian, who recently secured the year-end No. 1 ranking after his victory at the Shanghai Masters, demonstrated why he’s considered one of the game’s brightest talents. This latest triumph only further solidifies his growing dominance on the court.

Sinner’s performance against Medvedev was nothing short of extraordinary, with the Russian struggling to keep pace from the outset. The first set saw Medvedev, currently ranked No. 5, win just 15 of 46 points, as Sinner steamrolled through with precision, breaking Medvedev’s serve three times. By the start of the second set, Medvedev managed to secure his first game but continued to falter under Sinner’s relentless pressure, committing seven unforced errors and two double faults.

Frustration soon got the better of Medvedev as he failed to capitalize on four break points in the second set. Multiple racquet slams reflected the Russian’s growing agitation, as Sinner maintained his composure to secure another break and eventually seal the match in straight sets.

Reflecting on his victory, Sinner was pleased with his performance, especially considering the short turnaround from his Shanghai success.

“It was a very good performance considering I arrived just a couple days ago, not even. And I only had one practice session,” Sinner said post-match.

“It’s obviously a very nice moment for me. I worked very hard in my very young career to be in this position and this is from many, many years of work. This is what I love about being a tennis player, now I can enjoy every moment.”

Sinner now prepares to face Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals, a highly anticipated rematch after his victory over the Serbian legend in the Shanghai final. The rivalry between the two is heating up, and fans are eagerly awaiting another intense clash between the world’s best.
