Coach Tomasz Wiktorowski Breaks Silence On Split With Iga Swiatek And Denies Influence Claims

Tomasz Wiktorowski, former coach of world No. 1 Iga Swiatek, has finally opened up about their surprising split in August, addressing rumors and speculation about their parting. After a remarkable three-year run, which saw Swiatek claim 19 titles, including four Grand Slams, the tennis world was taken aback when Swiatek announced the end of their collaboration. Many speculated that the split was caused by external factors, particularly the influence of Swiatek’s psychologist, Daria Abramowicz.

However, Wiktorowski has firmly dismissed these claims. In an interview, he stated that the decision to part ways wasn’t sudden or dramatic, but rather a necessary step they both agreed upon. He emphasized that the separation was mutual and made with respect, adding that their official statement clearly explained the decision without leaving room for sensationalism.

“There has been too much speculation and insinuation. You just need to read the statement with understanding,” Wiktorowski said, debunking the idea of any internal conflict or discord within the team.

Regarding claims that Abramowicz had too much control over Swiatek’s decisions, Wiktorowski clarified that during their three years of collaboration, the team worked well together, always keeping Swiatek’s development and preparation at the forefront. He acknowledged that in such intense professional environments, occasional challenges are natural but insisted they always found a way to resolve them.

“The priority was always Iga and her success. We worked together for a common goal, and that’s what mattered,” Wiktorowski added, reiterating that their parting was a natural progression rather than a result of behind-the-scenes friction.

Ultimately, the former coach urged people to avoid sensationalizing the split, highlighting that no amount of “fake news” would change the mutual respect they still hold for each other.
