The tournament kicks off on Wednesday, October 16, with two thrilling quarterfinal matches. Carlos Alcaraz will face Holger Rune, while Daniil Medvedev will take on Jannik Sinner. Both matches promise to be intense battles, as each player vies for a spot in the semifinals.
Carlos Alcaraz, the young Spanish sensation, has been in excellent form recently, winning the China Open last month. However, he suffered a surprise loss to Tomas Machac at the Shanghai Masters, and will be eager to bounce back in this tournament. Holger Rune, on the other hand, has had an up-and-down Asian swing, but managed to reach the semifinals at the Japan Open.

Carlos Alcaraz in 2024
Now ranked no.2, the Spaniard played his last match on the 10th of October when he surrendered to world no.25 Tomas Machac 7-6(5) 7-5 in the quarter in Shanghai (draw).
At the moment, during this season the Spaniard achieved an overall 51-10 record. The Spaniard conquered 4 titles in 2024 in Indian Wells, French Open, Wimbledon and Beijing. Alcaraz was the finalist in Paris.
