On Monday, Holger Rune issued a press release announcing that he would resume working with his childhood coach, Lars Christensen.
Over the past two years, Rune’s coaching situation has changed since he first parted ways with Christensen.
He has occasionally reconnected with Christensen and has had successful runs with former Grand Slam champion Boris Becker, former Roger Federer coach Severin Luthi, and French coach Patrick Mouratoglou. Rune has also recently been connected to Benjamin Ebrahimzadeh and Kenneth Carlsen.
Rune talked about it recently and said: “I am happy to work with Lars again. We have known each other for many years and have developed our very own tennis language together. During the past month, I have trained a few times with Lars when I have been in Denmark, and it has had a really good effect on my serve.”
With Rune currently ranked No. 15 in the Race to Turin and a history of success in indoor hardcourt conditions, a strong season finale will be the immediate objective for both Christensen and Rune.
