Novak Djokovic is about to start his chase for an astonishing 5th title in Wimbledon, and he hired Goran Ivanisevic to increase his chances. The Croatian conquered the Championships back in 2001 after a dramatic final against Pat Rafter, and his experience could be pivotal for the world no.1 to defend his title.
Nole decided to partner with Goran at least for Wimbledon, and then they will if they will continue the partnership.
Ivanisevic was seen with Djokovic during his training to prompt some speculations that the Serbian sensation confirmed on Sunday with a post on the Social Media releasing the following comment
“I am grateful to have Goran on my side of the net. We have agreed to collaborate at #Wimbledon and hopefully many more in the future.
I am thankful to Marian for supporting the idea to invite Goran and strengthen our team ahead of this important tournament.”
When Djokovic was a ball boy for Ivanisevic
Nole added an interesting story about his relationship with Goran as follows:
“I have grown up watching and supporting Goran. Niki Pilic allowed me to be Goran’s ball boy during his preparation in Niki’s academy for the famous Wimbledon trophy in 2001 – that was a dream come true for a young tennis player who looked up to Goran. Now we get to join forces in the quest here in London. Idemooo 💪🏼”
