Aryna Sabalenka secured the Wuhan Open title after a hard-fought victory over China’s Qinwen Zheng. Reflecting on the final, Sabalenka admitted how challenging it was to face Zheng, especially with the crowd’s passionate support for their home player.

“It was really difficult, and people were cheering her on really crazy. I have experience playing against home players,” Sabalenka said. Despite the pressure, she stayed composed in the third set, focusing on keeping her emotions in check and managing to pull through for the win.

Sabalenka’s resilience was on full display, as she remained focused despite the tough environment and Zheng’s impressive play. “I’m really happy that I didn’t get too frustrated and was able to put myself back together in the third set,” she added.

This victory adds to Sabalenka’s growing list of accomplishments in what has been a successful season for the world No. 1.
