Sinner With His Team

On Sunday, Jannik Sinner defeated Novak Djokovic in straight sets to win the Shanghai Masters, earning the Italian player’s seventh title of the year, the most on the tour.

In an hour and thirty-seven minutes, the Italian defeated the 24-time Grand Slam champion 7-6 (4), 6-3, and never faced a break point in the outdoor hard-court competition.

Since Andy Murray won nine titles in 2016, Sinner became the first person to win more than six in a single season. Additionally, he matched his career record against Djokovic, with four victories each.

Following a defeat to Carlos Alcaraz in the Beijing China Open final and an ongoing doping case, Sinner achieved victory.

After two losses to Alcaraz, who was present in the stands for Sunday’s final, the 23-year-old Sinner is now 8-2 this season against the top-5 opponents on hard courts.

Sinner celebrated winning his trophy with his teammates after they were recently spotted rushing towards him while smiling and laughing in a photo shoot.
