He acknowledged the success he’s had on Chinese soil throughout his career and was happy to be back after a five-year absence. Djokovic congratulated his opponent Jannik Sinner for his strong performance and acknowledged the efforts of tournament organizers for making the event historically one of the best Masters 1000 tournaments. He also appreciated Roger Federer’s presence in the crowd and thanked his team for their support, despite being short-handed.
