At the Shanghai Masters, Novak Djokovic resisted security guards’ orders in order to interact with fans.

For the first time in five years, the world No. 4 is participating in the tournament, and he believes this is the strongest response he has ever received. It’s no surprise he thinks that way, as Djokovic left his fans jumping up and down after encouraging them to flout the rules.

The 24-time Grand Slam winner greeted fans who had gathered close to the tournament’s entrance. As Djokovic moved to sign autographs with the crowd, there was a frenzy.

A security guard tried to control them, saying: “Alright, hey, shush. Be quiet.”

But Djokovic wasn’t having it. The 37-year-old made even more noise as he sarcastically stood behind the officer and raised his hands. His followers didn’t think twice. The security guard bowed his head in defeat, and they began to cheer and shout his name immediately.
