Due to her ongoing injury problems, Naomi Osaka has withdrawn from the upcoming WTA 250 event in Osaka, Japan. After her match against Coco Gauff at the China Open last week, the former world number one was forced to withdraw.
She subsequently disclosed that she didn’t have any plans to play on the court due to a back injury. When Osaka did play, the match ended in a one-set forfeit. The four-time Grand Slam champion was forced to miss Wuhan qualifying due to her retirement in Beijing, despite having entered the competition.
Osaka has also suffered a setback by pulling out of the Japan Open Tennis Championships presented by Kinoshita Group, which are scheduled for next week.
On Monday, the tournament announced on X: “We would like to inform you that Naomi Osaka (Japan/Freelance), who was scheduled to participate in the women’s tournament of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships 2024 will be unable to participate due to injury.”

At the moment ranked no.58, the Japanese played her last match on the 1st of October when she had to retire when playing against world no.4 Cori Gauff in the 4th round and the scoreline was 3-6 6-4 .
Until now, during this year Naomi achieved an overall 22-18 record.
Naomi Osaka will fight against the world no.722 Anna Danilina in the . They have never competed against each other till now on the main tour.
