During his hectic tennis schedule, Jannik Sinner had to clarify certain things regarding his personal life after internet rumours that he had secretly wed girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya began to circulate.

After the US Open champion’s victory at Flushing Meadows this year, a local magazine in Italy revealed that he had considered marrying Kalinskaya. This is when the rumours started to spread.

Sinner is competing at the Shanghai Masters right now, having advanced to the Round of 16. He participated in the China Open before this, losing to Carlos Alcaraz in the championship match. His girlfriend was also with him at the China Open; the Russian lost in the Round of 16.

Due to their busy schedules in Asia, Italian gossip magazines began spreading false stories of their unconfirmed secret marriage, which neither of them could verify. Thankfully, the majority of the followers on social media were quick to doubt the accuracy of the rumours, even criticizing the magazines for making assumptions about the progress.

Sinner laughed heartily when the two-time Grand Slam champion was questioned about confirmation during his most recent press conference in Shanghai. He quickly dispelled the rumour, saying it was all false information and nothing of the kind had happened.

Sinner talked about this false news of marriage and said: “It was new also for me, to be honest. No, I didn’t ask, and nothing, nothing happened. I just read the details a little bit that it happened after the US Open, but it’s all false, false news. Thank you.”
