Former tennis player Jelena Dokic has talked candidly about the horrifying abuse she endured at the hands of her father at home.

A new documentary about the life of Dokic will be released the following month. This week saw the release of the trailer for the documentary “Unbreakable,” which opens in Australian theatres on November 7.

Her best grand slam performance came in 2000 when she made it to the Wimbledon semifinals.

She returned to tennis after a difficult time in the middle of the 2000s, and at the 2009 Australian Open, she had an incredible run all the way to the quarterfinals.

However, her relationship with her father Damir Dokic deteriorated behind closed doors, and she revealed the horrifying physical and psychological abuse she endured at his hands in her 2017 memoir Unbreakable.

Dokic is heard in the new trailer thinking back on her father’s abuse and groans at one point. She said: “I’m 16 years old. I’m playing the world No. 1 Martina Hingis. I knew that if I lost, the consequences would be catastrophic. One day after I lost, he was extremely angry. I knew what was going to happen. There was not an inch of skin that wasn’t bruised. I’m 17 and through his actions, I became the most hated person.”
