Roger Federer is getting more and more confidence on grass. The world no.3 beats Florian Mayer 7-6 (2) 7-6 (1) after a hard battle in the quarters in Stuttgart. The difference between Roger and Florian was in the breakers where a “relaxed” Federer managed to play great tennis with solid servers.

Roger was happy with his tennis as he noticed some improvements from his match against Fritz “I think it was a good match really, with long rallies. I thought that I played much better. I’m not sure if the stats showed it, but I felt I served better. I’m really pleased how I felt this morning; my shoulder is a little sore having served a lot against Fritz. But that’s exactly the kind of thing I need to feel having gotten back onto the match courts.”
The semi vs. Thiem
Roger will play Dominic Thiem in the semifinal. The head to head is 1-all as Thiem has just defeated Roger in Rome when the Swiss was injured to his back.
