Brad Gilbert, Chris Evert, and Boris Becker all praised Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner’s performance in the China Open final. On Diamond Court, the two engaged in a gripping three-hour and twenty-four-minute match.

Sinner prevailed in a tiebreak in the opening set, but Alcaraz came back to win the second set 6-4 and send the match to a decider. It came down to a tiebreak in the final set, which featured some excellent tennis from both players. In the end, Alcaraz prevailed 7-3 to record a 6-7(6), 6-4, 7-6(3) victory and secure his fourth championship of the 2024 campaign, joining his victories at the French Open, Wimbledon, and BNP Paribas Open.

Evert, Gilbert, and Becker, among others, praised Alcaraz and Sinner for their performance in the China Open title match.

Evert said: “What a match. @janniksin @carlosalcaraz @TennisChannel.”

Becker praised the China Open final, saying that Sinner and Alcaraz gave it their all on the court.

He wrote: “Fantastic match between @sinner @alcaraz in Bejing! Both players leave everything on the court! @ChinaOpen @atptour.”

Gilbert stated his remarks and said: “After 20 years of amazing matches from the big 3 didn’t think it was possible this soon to have another amazing rivalry, Escape from Alcaraz vs Sin City is the gold standard in tennis. Here’s to the next 10 years of these 2 with tons of great matches, hopefully, Wada doesn’t mess it up.”
