Karolina Pliskova breezes past Angelique Kerber 6-1 6-4 in the final in Eastbourne on Saturday after playing a fantastic match to win her 14th career title, the 3rd of this season.

1st set.
Pliskova started the set in the best possible way after breaking Kerber in the 2nd game (2-0) before consolidating her break and lead 4-0.
However, that was not enough for Karolina to win the set as Kerber succeeded in breaking back in the 5th game (1-4). Pliskova maintained her focus to break the German in the 6th (5-1) game before managing to win the set (6-1).
2nd set.
Pliskova overpowered the opposition at the beginning of the set after breaking Kerber in the 1st game (1-0). That was decisive for the Czech to win the set (6-4) as there were no other breaks.
At the end of the match, Karolina scored 70 points vs. the German’s 51 points.
Karolina was battling in converting her break points as she converted only 31% (4/13).
On the other side, the German was well focussed in converting 50% of the break points that she conquered points (1/2). Nevertheless, that was not enough to win the encounter.
