Wimbledon is about to start, and there are 3 exciting “nextgen players” that are looking forward to having a fantastic run this year: Stefanos Tsitsipas, Denis Shapovalov, and Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Seeded no.7, the Greek has always stated that grass is a good match for his aggressive tennis. However, the 20-year-old didn’t really shine in his previous appearances in ‘s-Hertogenbosch where he lost in his opening match to Nicolas Jarry (not a specialist on grass) and at the Queen’s Club where he had to bow again to Felix Auger-Aliassime (7-5 6-2).

Stefanos had a good draw in Wimbledon to face Thomas Fabbiano (world no.102) in the 1st round and then possibly face Ivo Karlovic (80), Kyle Edmund (31), and Daniil Medvedev (13) in the 4th round. If he makes it to the final 8, Tsitsipas is projected to face Novak Djokovic (1) in the quarters and Sascha Zverev (5) in the semifinal.

Here Stefanos’ path

R1  – Thomas Fabbiano
R2  – Ivo Karlovic
R3  – Kyle Edmund
R4  – Daniil Medvedev
1/4 – Novak Djokovic

Denis Shapovalov

The young Canadian is having a challenging year. Denis lost 9 of his previous 11 matches on tour, and he crashed out in the 1st round in both his last 2 tournaments on grass against Jan-Lennard Struff and Juan Martin Del Potro (7-5 6-4 on both occasions).

Denis is eager to start over at the Championships where he was the champion (juniors) in 2016. However, Shapovalov had a tough draw in Wimbledon as he will face the world no.74 Richard Berankis in the opener to then possibly play Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (70), Rafael Nadal (2), Marin Cilic (18). If Denis come through this, he is projected to play Dominic Thiem (4) in the quarters and Roger Federer (3) in the semifinal.

R3  – Rafael Nadal
R4  – Marin Cilic

In Wimbledon, Felix will face his compatriot Vasek Pospisil (188) in the first round before possibly play Grigor Dimitrov (48), Gael Monfils (15), and Novak Djokovic (1) in the 4th round. If Felix finds the way to keep on going, he is projected to clash with Stefanos Tsitsipas (6) in the quarters and Sascha Zverev (5) in the semifinal.
