Serena Williams is still winning awards, even though she gave up tennis more than two years ago. Glamour Magazine recently named her the 2024 Global Woman of the Year.

At the 2022 US Open, Williams announced her retirement, capping an incredible career spanning more than 20 years.

The highly decorated athlete accomplished every major tennis milestone, setting records for Grand Slam victories and Olympic gold medals and holding the top ranking in the world rankings for 319 weeks.

Williams talks openly about her life as a golden-age woman after retirement in the accompanying interview with Mattie Kahn. She discusses how she balances motherhood with her venture capital project, Serena Ventures, and her own entrepreneurial endeavours as well as those of others.

She also talks candidly about the postpartum depression she went through following the birth of her first daughter, Olympia, in 2017 and how she went through similar difficulties following the birth of her second daughter, Adira, last year. She also mentions that two causes she is focused on promoting through her post-tennis work are pay equity and family leave in business.
