Ashleigh Barty, Naomi Osaka lead the Wimbledon draw

Ashleigh Barty and Naomi Osaka lead an extremely competitive draw in Wimbledon where both are considered as the top favorite to win the trophy.

Ashleigh Barty’s draw

The Australian received a rather tough draw. In fact, after facing the world no.43 Saisai Zheng in the opening match, she may have to play Svetlana Kuznetsova that even if she is now ranked no.103 can be always dangerous on a good day. In the 3rd round, Ashleigh is projected to play the former Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza before possibly play Belinda Bencic in the 4th round. Barty may also face either Serena Williams or Angelique Kerber in the quarters before a possible semifinal against Petra Kvitova.

Naomi Osaka’s draw

The Japanese has just lost her world no.1 rank to Barty following a not so great run after her triumph at the Australian Open and the following sudden split with Sascha Baijin.

Naomi will face Yulia Putinenseva (39) in the opening match to then possible play Iga Swiatek (63), Sofia Kenin (28), and Caroline Wozniacki (14). Naomi may face Simona Halep in the quarters and Karolina Pliskova in the semifinal.
