In a surprising turn of events, Simona Halep has announced her early return to competitive tennis. The former world No. 1 revealed she’s feeling better than expected and will be flying to Hong Kong tomorrow to compete in the 125 tournament, rather than waiting for the WTA 250 event later in October.
“I’m ready sooner than I thought,” Halep shared with excitement, marking her swift recovery. This appearance will be her first in months as she aims to regain her form and climb back up the rankings.

Currently ranked no.578, Halep played her last match on the 15th of May when she had to retire when playing against world no.65 Mccartney Kessler in the 1st round and the scoreline was 5-7 3-2 .
This season Simona has managed to achieve a 0-2 match record.
Simona Halep will play the world no.114 Arina Rodionova in the 1st round. In the past, they have never played each other until now in top competitions.
