When things go in his favour, Nick Kyrgios’ antics never go out of style. They go hand in hand. Using social media, the Australian player has stayed relevant even after being out of competition for almost two years. Kyrgios discusses his opinions on the most recent events in sports when he isn’t working on his occasional commentary gig. On this occasion, though, the Australian deplored a difficult defeat to Roger Federer almost seven years ago.

Kyrgios’ official return to the circuit appears uncertain, as he has had surgery to address his physical limitations, months of rehab, and wrist and knee injuries. The Australian player appears to have remembered his tragic experience from the 2017 Laver Cup in Prague despite everything else.

The semifinal match between Team World and Team Europe, which attracted a lot of attention from spectators, prepared the audience for the Federer-Kyrgios match. Following a rare sighting, there was an amazing showdown between the two.

Both players gave it their all, desperate to raise the trophy. Kyrgios won the first set with pure rejoicing, but the Swiss player wasn’t finished yet. After losing to the Australian in the second set by a narrow margin, the former world No. 1 recovered to force a decider.

Even though he remained resilient, Kyrgios felt the wrath of the Swiss Maestro’s racket as he lost the match in a thrilling three-set match, 4-6, 7-6(6), 11-9.

Kyrgios posted a reel of the game’s highlights on Instagram to mark the occasion of the hard defeat. The 2022 Wimbledon champion added, “Could have given me this one,” as a caption to the photo.
