Coco Gauff Excited For New Coaching Setup In Beijing

Coco Gauff has revamped her coaching team, bringing in Matt Daly alongside her longtime coach, Jean-Christophe Faurel, for the remainder of the season and into 2024. Gauff recently ended her successful partnership with Brad Gilbert after the US Open. Daly, who coached Denis Shapovalov last season and played collegiate tennis at Notre Dame, joined Gauff’s team a week before her appearance at the China Open in Beijing.

“I’m really excited,” Gauff shared. “This is probably what it will look like next year too. I’m super excited for a new change and to improve parts of my game.”

Reflecting on her time with Gilbert, she added, “It was really great, but I felt it was time for a reset, to refresh, and add what I need to have a better season next year.”
