Weird stuff in Paris! Agnieszka Radwanska and Simona Halep were in firm command on Sunday after their 4th round match was halted by the rain. Simona was leading 5-3 over Sam Stosur to implode on Wednesday and lose 7-6 (0) 6-3.
Something incredible happened on the other court where Agnieszka Radwanska had to resume the match against world no. 102 Tsvetana Pironkova when she was leading 6-2 3-0. Eventually, the Pole lost ten consecutive games to find herself trailing on a 6-2 3-6 0-4 score-line; Aga had the chances to get back after winning two games and having the opportunity to bring the decider to 4-3, but eventually she didn’t manage to find the solution and she lost 2-6 6-3 6-3.
Radwanska. I am pissed
The match was played in heavy conditions with a persistent “misty rain”. The world no.2 maintained that it was impossible to play
“I’m just so surprised and angry that, you know, we have to play in the rain. I mean, it’s not a 10,000 tournament. It’s a Grand Slam. How can you allow players to play in the rain?
So, well, I’m just pissed. I just cannot play in that conditions. I mean, I’m not healthy enough. … For me, playing with those balls in that kind of court is pretty much impossible. So, I mean, I tried.”
Do you think that Radwanska is right to be upset?

Halep. I was close to be injured
Simona wasn’t happy as well “No one cares about the players, in my opinion. I don’t care that I lost the match today. But I was close to getting injured with my back, so that’s a big problem.
The court was not good. The balls were wet, completely wet during the match. I think it’s too difficult to play tennis in these conditions.”
Next quarter
Stosur and Pironkova will play each other for a place in the final. The head to head is 4-1 for the Australian.
