During his press conference after the match at the Laver Cup on Saturday night, Alexander Zverev got into a heated argument with a reporter.

A reporter offered Zverev a solution after participants such as Carlos Alcaraz asserted that the demanding schedule would kill the players.

Zverev criticized the Olympic tennis schedule following his heartbreaking loss to Lorenzo Musetti in the semifinals. The debate over tennis scheduling has been going strong for the past few years, and it doesn’t seem like it will end anytime soon.

Over this ongoing issue in the tennis world, Zverev was recently seen getting into a heated argument with a journalist at the Laver Cup. The journalist, who was demanding that the players organize to alter the arduous ATP calendar, had a heated discussion with Zverev.

Zverev said: “There is no sport in which so much is at stake, this cannot continue like this. The health of the players is being put at risk, it is inconceivable that we start a season on December 29 and finish it in the second week of November.”

After hearing this, the journalist questioned him about whether the players had made use of the chance to speak with one another during these days and whether they had any plans to devise a joint strategy to apply pressure.

The atmosphere in the room became somewhat intense upon listening to this, and the German asked the journalist: “For what? It’s all about money here, that’s all the ATP cares about, we players have no decision-making power.”

The journalist then urged them to act together and take action. Zverev then added: “Ok, what would you do? Tell me. No, seriously. Many times journalists come here to ask us things that are impossible to answer, now I want to know what you would do. It’s all about money. Tournaments have a license and we can’t do anything about that.”
