Good that Federer and Nadal are out. GULBIS

The Roland Garros organization has been particularly unlucky this year after Federer and Nadal retired from the tournament. All players have been quick in saying how sad this was for tennis, but Ernests Gulbis, once again, went straight to the point without been “politically correct”.

Why it’s good for me that Federer and Nadal are out. GULBIS

During a recent interview, the Latvian commented “Of course, it’s very bad when you lose such players, especially Monfils, Tsonga for the French crowd, and Federer and Nadal. You’re right; not much could be worse. But I don’t really know how to comment on being lucky or unlucky. It’s just what it is, you know. We have more opportunity, you know? We have more opportunities.”

Gulbis took full advantage of this situation after Tsonga retired when he was playing against him; the Frenchman was leading Ernests 5-2 in the opener. Gulbis will now face Goffin in the 4th round; another retirement may help…

Do you agree with Gulbis?
