Due to a foot injury, Emma Raducanu had to withdraw from her Korea Open quarterfinal match against Daria Kasatkina on Saturday. The British player encountered the same problem during her victory over Yue Yuan in the previous round, which she was unable to resolve in Seoul.
After just over 30 minutes of play, Raducanu decided not to return for the second set, as Kasatkina dominated the first 6-1.
The Russian player proceeded to the South Korean semifinals, but her poise was evident when she expressed sympathy for her irritated opponent at the start of her post-match interview.
Kasatkina talked about it and said: “First of all, I feel sorry for Emma for retiring during the match. It’s a pity to get injured, especially in the deeper stages of the tournament. I wish her a speedy recovery to get ready for the next tournament. I know that this swing is important for her.”

Emma Raducanu will play the world no.54 Viktoriya Tomova in the final. Their actual record is 1-0 for Tomova.
She is also scheduled to play in Hong Kong (Hong Kong Tennis Open) after Beijing. The main draw will start on the 23rd of September.
