Carlos Alcaraz, one of tennis’s brightest young stars, joins Team Europe for the Laver Cup 2024. Since turning professional in 2018, Alcaraz has made significant strides, capturing four Grand Slam titles by age 21, including the US Open 2022, Wimbledon 2023 and 2024, and Roland Garros 2024.

His impressive achievements place him alongside legends like Rod Laver, Bjorn Borg, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic, having completed the Roland Garros-Wimbledon double in the Open era. Alcaraz’s remarkable career includes 15 titles and a No.1 ranking achieved at just 19 years old.

Looking forward to the Laver Cup, Alcaraz expressed his excitement: “I love it and I wanted to be part of it. It’s a serious competition. I think we have to represent Europe in the best way possible.” He also highlighted the unique aspect of the tournament, saying, “Having a lot of time with them and speaking with them about something else, not only tennis, is going to be different … and I like different things.”

Alcaraz admires Rod Laver’s contributions to tennis and is eager to learn from Bjorn Borg during his final year as Team Europe captain. “Being a coach from Bjorn Borg is going to be a really important moment for me, for my career, for my life,” Alcaraz said.
