Anett Kontaveit, the former tennis player from Estonia, announced to her fans that she had given birth to a son more than a year after she had retired from the game.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “First week with our Leon Enzo Lepistu. So much love.”

The tennis player from Estonia has received a lot of good wishes lately, and the tennis fraternity is adding their own to wish her family even more joy.

Just after Wimbledon 2023, Kontaveit announced his retirement. After a prolonged affair prompted by physical issues, the Estonian tennis player decided to share her difficult decision on social media last year. Of her fifteen career final appearances, the Tallinn native has won six WTA titles.

A quarterfinal finish at the 2020 Australian Open is her best Grand Slam result. Anett set numerous career records and, most notably, ranked second in the WTA rankings in June 2022, making her an undisputed leader in her nation, which does not have a strong tennis heritage.
