Muguruza, Radwanska cruise in Paris

Seed no.2 Agnieszka Radwanska and seed no.4 Garbine Muguruza have smooth wins in the Roland Garros 2nd round.

Radwanska

On paper, Aga had a complicated 2nd round against an in-form Caroline Garcia. The Frenchwoman has just won the tournament in Strasbourg and she was full of confidence about her chances in Paris. Radwanska had a bad start of the match after she was broken in the very first game to break Caroline back soon after. The most important stint of the match was when the Pole won 7 consecutive games from 2-all to 6-2 3-0. That proved to be a decisive lead, and eventually, the world no.2 won the match 6-2 6-4.

Aga has another tough opponent in the 3rd round when she will face Barbora Strycova. The head to head is 3-0 for Radwanska, but she can’t trust the Czech.

Muguruza

Garbine dismisses the world no. 203 Myrtille Georges 6-2 6-0. The match lasted just four games (2-all), then Muguruza conquered the following ten games to win the match 6-2 6-0. Interesting enough, Garbine said that she wasn’t comfortable “It wasn’t easy, and at the same time I think she was a little nervous. I guess I was nervous a little, too, but it helped me.”

The Spaniard will face Yanina Wickmayer in the 3rd round. The head to head is 1-0 for Garbine.
