In his first match since a surprising third-round upset at the US Open, Novak Djokovic delivered a commanding performance at the Davis Cup. Djokovic cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Greece’s Ioannis Xilas, ranked No. 770, at the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall in Belgrade.

Djokovic, who last played a home Davis Cup tie seven years ago, was proud to compete in front of Serbian fans. “It’s always a huge honor to play for Serbia, especially at home,” Djokovic said.

Serbia leads 2-0 against Greece, with Miomir Kecmanovic also securing a win over Aristotelis Thanos. Despite Greece missing top player Stefanos Tsitsipas, Djokovic praised his team for showing up with their strongest squad.

The match was part of World Group I, and Serbia is eyeing a place in the 2025 Davis Cup qualifying round.
