Two brand-new floodlit Padel courts have just been erected at King George’s Park, giving the neighborhood’s citizens access to this quickly expanding sport. Padel, a dynamic fusion of squash and tennis, is becoming more and more popular throughout Europe. Wandsworth residents may now play it more easily than ever thanks to the council’s efforts.
At a community gathering where locals may sign up for free tennis lessons, the courts were officially inaugurated. The project is a component of the council’s “Access for All” program, which attempts to guarantee that all people can use the facilities, irrespective of their background. Every day from 1pm to 3pm, adults who qualify—including refugees, asylum seekers, and those receiving other benefits—can play for free. Additionally, on weekdays from 3 to 5 p.m., kids under the age of 18 are welcome to play for free.
