Angelique Kerber downs Samantha Stosur 6-4 6-4 in the 2^nd round in Eastbourne on Tuesday.

The Match

1^st set.

The German won the set after she broke the Australian in the 3^rd (2-1) and in the 9^th (5-4) game. Samantha tried to stage a comeback breaking in the 4^th (2-2) game. However, Kerber maintained the focus before winning the set 6-4.

2^nd set.

Angelique won the set after recovering from 1 break down. In fact, after conceding her serve in the 4^th (1-3) game. the German broke back in the 5^th (2-3) and in the 9^th (5-4) game before winning the set 6-4.

The German was pretty focussed in converting 67% of the break points that she procured (4/6).

On the other side, the Australian had to work hard in converting her break points because she converted only 40%. That was one of the key issues for her defeat.
