The tennis world seems to agree with the fact that Nadal should be seeded no.2 in Wimbledon.

The topic of the moment in the tennis world is about the controversial Wimbledon seeding formula that has penalized Rafael Nadal.

In fact, the Spanish sensation is the current world no.2, but the Championships uses its own algorithm to determine the seedings (see article). That means that Federer will be the seed no.2 while Nadal is no.3. Nothing will change if Nadal will fall in Roger’s half, but things would get awkward if the King of Clay will be in Djokovic’s half.

Wimbledon disrespects players’ achievements

Nadal was rather upset while commenting on Wimbledon’s seeding saying that the organization doesn’t respect the players’ achievements. Nevertheless, the King of Clay is well aware that he will still focus on his “next match.”

Why Wimbledon’s seeding is wrong

Darren Cahill, the former coach of Simona Halep, explained why the algorithm is outdated to comment on Twitter

“The Wimbledon seeding formula came about when there was a clear distinction between clay court specialists and fast court tennis. Many clay courters even skipped the grass. That is not the case now. Players adapted, grass is slower and the game is played similar. I agree with this.”

Some other top personalities such as Patrick McEnroe, Magnus Norman, and Novak Djokovic agreed with this point.
